Once you've received your Portal das Finanças password, we recommend that you modify it for better safety.
To do this, simply follow the 3 steps below:
Step 1 - Access and login to the Portal das Finanças
Click on this link to access the portal home page then click on "Iniciar Sessão" at the top right of the page
Click on "NIF".
Enter your NIF and your Finanças password (located under the "Senha de Acesso Internet" box)
If you don't know where your NIF is on your document, please consult this article.
⚠️ Be careful not to enter your password and NIF incorrectly or with extra spaces.
The number of tries is limited otherwise your account will be blocked.
Step 2 - Access the password change form
Insert "Alterar dados de acesso" in the search bar at the top of the screen.
Select the option "Alterar Dados de Acesso".
Click on "NIF".
Insert your current password again.
Step 3 - Set your new password
Select the "Alterar Senha" option and click on "Alterar".
Enter your new password in the box "Nova Senha" then re-enter it in the box "Confirmar Nova Senha" and click on "Alterar".
⚠️ Please note that the new password must contain at least 8 characters.
After that, it's done! Your password has been correctly changed.
