Required documents
To request a NIF with AnchorLess you'll need to provide only 2 documents:
Passport or National ID Card (for EU Citizens)
A high-quality scanned image/picture of your passport or National ID Card (both sides for ID cards):
The text must be legible without shadows or light reflections.
The document must be valid and not expired.
The signature should be fully visible.
All four corners of the document should be visible.
Proof of Address
A document that can be used to prove your residential address (outside of Portugal is preferred) You can find the requirements here.
If you want to use a Portuguese address, we will also need your Cartão de Cidadão
I'm applying for a Minor (Under 18)
If you are applying for a NIF for a minor under the age of 18, you need to submit the following additional requirements:
Birth certificate, Adoption certificate, or Legal guardianship order;
Copy of one parent's (or legal guardian) passport;
Proof of Address in the name of a parent or legal guardian.
I am a Portuguese Citizen (born in or outside Portugal)
If you are a Portuguese citizen born in Portugal, you need to provide a copy of your Portugal-issued birth certificate. If you don't have one, you can order it at this link: get my Portuguese birth certificate.
If you are a Portuguese citizen born outside of Portugal or hold dual citizenship, you may provide your Cartão de Cidadão (Citizen Card).
